A new study by Georgetown University Medical Center shows that visual symptoms observed in those with dyslexia do not cause dyslexia – it is instead a consequence of having dyslexia. The study also noted that early intervention and treatments should not revolve around the deficits in visual processing. Instead, the researchers found that the visual symptoms were improved when students received intensive tutoring in phonological and orthographic skills.
