dyslexia support for parents

Why Reading Programs Should Change

It’s my firm belief, and research clearly shows, that reading programs in the elementary grades should be changed, particularly for kids in K-3rd grade. If a structured, explicit, multisensory program were used in classrooms, all children (even those with dyslexia) would be able to experience success in reading. Unfortunately, the educational system remains far behind the research on this issue. Unless parents advocate and fight for change, it very rarely happens.

Here is one woman’s inspiring story of how she was able to accomplish this in her community.
